My first DIY project! :)

Yes, I still have an obsession with finding an old dining room table and fixing it up to be beautiful... but after stalking Craigslist for the past couple weeks and spending all day last Saturday at garage sales and thrift stores, I still haven't found THE table yet. It'll come, it takes patience to find hidden treasures. :)

So in the meantime I've been working on a few smaller and easier projects to satisfy my craving to make stuff! I spend so many hours looking at all these blogs getting ideas and inspiration but it's a lot harder than I thought thinking of what I can do myself.

So last night I started working on a few things but only finished one so far, so I thought I'd share. I got the idea from my friend Kelsey at Fabulously Flawed and figured it was something small and easy I could start with.  I had a frame to use, but didn't have garden twine, a glue gun, or clothes pins. So, I decided to go to the suuuuper g-h-e-t-t-o 99 cent store that's a couple miles from my house. And to my surprise, they had glue guns and glue sticks. And they work!! I was so excited. I got garden twine from Home Depot, and some clothes pins/white spray paint from Michael's.  I spray painted the frame, glued on the strings of twine, and clipped on some pictures. Here it is:

I still don't know exactly where I'm going to put it... but for now it's hanging in my dining room in a random place.  I just wanted to see it hung up and looking pretty. :)

Ooo and I just had to share my cute little door mat I found for our back door this weekend at Bed, Bath, and Beyond.. on sale for $9.99!

It's so me! :D  And last but not least.... this is what I woke up to this morning. My little Dolce snuggled next to me all sleepy and cute:

That had nothing to do with this post but I had to show off my cute little man.

I am will have another post very soon of the other projects I'm working on! I'm making my mom something for Mother's Day too.

I have a million DIY things I want to accomplish, but the main things are: Dining room table, our King headboard, and re-decorate our hideous guest room.
