A random post of food, organization, and a project!

Hey everyone!

So first I want to share this yummy recipe for crockpot potato cheddar soup I made the other night... but I switched it up to make it better and it turned out AMAZING. So I will give you my version:

Ingredients ~
5 lbs russet potatoes
1 onion
10 + cloves of garlic minced (I used 20 because we're garlicaholics)
8 cups chicken stock
16 oz cream cheese
1 lb of cooked bacon, crumbled
3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Green onions
Salt, pepper, garlic salt, and all purpose seasoning to taste

Add potatoes, onion, half of the garlic, and chicken stock to the slow cooker.
Cook on high for 6 hours.
Puree half of the cream cheese, some of the soup broth, and half of remaining garlic in food processor and add to the crock pot. Repeat with second half of cream cheese and last of the garlic.
Add 2 cups of cheddar cheese, half of the crumbled bacon, and half of the bunch of green onions diced up, and mix it all together until all cheese melted.
Dish up and garnish with remaining cheddar cheese, remaining crumbled bacon, and remaining green onion.
SOOOO DELICIOUS! Makes tons of leftovers and all the garlic helps fight off any colds. :)

Moving on! So is anyone else as obsessed with Pinterest lately as I am?? I'm getting all kinds of ideas.  The other day I saw the idea to use an over the door shoe hanger to organize any messy cupboards! So, I decided to finally attack my super messy laundry room closet.

Here's how it looked before....beware:

And after I hung the shoe hanger, stuffed it with all the small rags and dish towels, and organized our shelves, it looks like this now:

Yipee!! I love organization. :)

My next project is something I also found from Pinterest. I saw someone who took a cool empty frame and put it around their air conditioning unit control box on the wall. I thought that was a cool way to make something ugly look prettier! I then remembered I had 2 frames from Ikea that I got for like $2 a piece and had never used. So I decided to do something similar:

Normally I spray paint everything white so why would I touch these? Oh maybe because I felt just felt like painting something. Lol. So I went out to the garage to see what colors I had laying around and found some hot pink and gold... For the first frame I painted it pink and put it on the wall in our bedroom framing our light switch:

Yes, it's super girly, and my husband doesn't care. Our room is black and white with hot pink accents!

With the second frame I did another Pinterest project I saw, someone who took a frame and put burlap inside as a background and made it a dry erase board frame. So I did the same but painted the frame gold. I love metallics.

I added it to the gallery wall in our hallway that is always growing:

Okay, need to go take care of a cranky, teething baby boy now.
How cute will this smile look with 2 precious bottom baby teeth???
